Let's be clear right off the rip; if you're in the Dayton area you must stop inside Dublin Pub before you leave. For all of you who are traveling along highway 75 and have no plans on stopping in Dayton for a pitstop; get out of your car and visit Dublin Pub for 20 minutes. Also, the Dayton Flyers suck at basketball.
It's not often I tell others to carve time out of their schedules to visit a Pub but take my word for it that this one will not disappoint. The exterior of the place is quite the looker as you can tell that the owner takes heavy pride in the curb appeal. During the summertime they have a plethora of greenery, beautiful flowers and a well-kept patio.

When you walk inside you are engulfed with significant architecture and authentic furniture. The wall decor is pleasant and is thoughtfully spread out throughout the place. The main dining room is cozy with an ample amount of booths and chairs alongside a small stage for music. Speaking of the small stage... during my last visit at Dublin Pub we had a surprise performance from some elderly Christmas carolers. A lovely surprise!
The bar itself holds a mere 12 or so patrons with about 18 beers on tap including Smithwick's, Harp, Magners, and Guinness. The whiskey and scotch selection is well above average with a pricetage of $300 for a pour of Macallan 25. Oh... and yes; they have Paddy's for all of us Paddy goers. They certainly have the best whiskey selection out of any Irish Pub throughout Dayton. (There are a few bars downtown with a much more in-depth menu regarding bourbon and whiskey, but they're not Irish.)

Our bartender gave us a well above average pour of Guinness for $6.00 in exchange, although I can say that I've had more engaging bartenders here at Dublin Pub in the past vs this guy. If you're looking for grub, then you're also in luck here as they offer delicious food for the hungry travelers. They provide a $16 Shepherds Pie and the fish and chips portions are about the size of your forearms. You can also find The Dublin Pub catering at many events throughout the year as they are very engaged with the local area, especially during the annual Celtic Festival. Their Reuben sandwich held the #2 spot on our "Best Reuben Tracker" on our website's homepage for a few months, believe it or not. To then be taken over by "The Old Shillelagh" in Detroit, MI.

There are 2 extra spaces for private events alongside a second bar and an even bigger stage. There's a jukebox for when there's not a performance going on and you can typically expect a top 100 mix playing at any given time. There are a handful of TVs for gamedays and yes, they normally have soccer on for those into the Premier League.

There aren't too many gripes when it comes to the Dublin Pub. Sometimes the bathrooms are a hit or miss, there is no dart board, and the demographics are a bit all over the place without any deep specific niche (that's almost a compliment). For as big as the place is they do a good job at making it feel warm and cozy, however, you won't be overwhelmed with the Craic. The hospitality here is nice but it's not the Irish Hospitality needed to be rated over a 9.00. I've never had a bartender or server give me that sense of genuine storytelling or deep engagement, but more so just a "hey what's up what can I get for you." Tell me a joke or introduce me to the fellow bargoers alongside me. Get a conversation going amongst everyone sitting at the bar. Do something more than just take orders with a smile, if you want to impress someone who's been in the service industry for their entire lives and who's made it a point to compare every single Irish Pub in America along with each other. Don't ever be average.

Like I said, get outta yer' car and get your ass to Dublin's. They definitely deserve the love! Slainte.

Slainte!
